It’s coming a lot! The 80th edition of the Golden Globe Awards, an award that celebrates the best professionals and the best film and television productions of the last year, takes place today (10) in Los Angeles, USA. This time the event won’t be broadcast in Brazil, but hugogloss.com has rounded up everything you need to know about the ceremony.
2023 marks the return of the Golden Globes to American TV. Last year, after a series of controversies, NBC declined to air the awards. The criticisms arose mainly due to the lack of diversity of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (Hollywood Foreign Press Association), which did not bring together blacks or people of different ethnicities among its members, which resulted in a boycott by artists.
Since then, the organization and the event have undergone significant changes. The HFPA hired a diversity manager, announced the addition of 103 new affiliates and four new categories to the award: Outstanding Supporting Actor in a TV Series (Comedy, Musical or Drama), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a TV Series (Comedy, Musical, or Drama)), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries, Anthology Series, or Television Film, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries, Anthology Series, or Television Film.
Highlights
In this edition, the big screen favorite was the feature film “The Banshees of Inisherin”. With eight nominations, the comedy-drama starring Colin Farrell and Barry Keoghan is the darling of the statuette for “Best Screenplay”. “Everything in Every Place at Once” appears in second place, in the running for six awards.

Favorites of Internet users, “Wandinha” and “House of the Dragon” were also remembered.
Other notable titles include ‘The Bear’, ‘The Crown’ and ‘Break’, as well as the 2022 blockbusters ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Avatar: Walk of Water’.
