Steven Spielberg won top honors, including the award for Best Motion Picture – Drama, at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony on Tuesday for his film The Fabelmansas Hollywood stars flocked to the first major awards show of the year, despite a series of scandals involving its organizers.
The other grand prize in the film category, Best Comedy or Musical, went to The Banshees of Inisherina tragicomedy about a friendship broken on a remote Irish island, which finished the evening with the highest number of film awards.
Spielberg, who also took home the Best Director award, thanked his family, including his late mother.
The Fabelmans deals with Spielberg’s parents’ troubled marriage, anti-Semitic bullying, and the director’s early efforts to produce zero-budget films with his teenage friends.
“Everyone sees me as a success story, and everyone sees us the way they perceive us based on how they get information,” said the 76-year-old director. “But no one really knows who we are until we’re brave enough to tell everyone who we are.”
Spielberg stressed that movies are liked ET And Close encounters of the third kind he used elements from his real life, but never dared to go through this story until now.
Despite poor box office results, the film beat out last year’s two biggest commercial hits: James Cameron’s sci-fi film Avatar: The Way of Water and TOp Gun: Maverick – in the dispute for the last prize of the evening.
Inisherin it also earned Colin Farrell the Best Actor in a Comedy award, boosting his Oscar anticipation, and writer-director Martin McDonagh for Best Screenplay.
All eyes were on the celebrities and many of them attended, including Rihanna and Brad Pitt.
Austin Butler, wearing Elvis Presley’s blue suede shoes for elvis, won Best Actor in a Drama.
“You were an icon and a rebel and I love you so much,” Butler told the legendary singer in an emotional speech in which he praised Presley’s family for their support.

Cate Blanchett, who won Best Actress in a Drama for ok, did not attend the ceremony. Other winners who weren’t in attendance were Kevin Costner (yellowstone), Zendaya (euphoria) and Amanda Seyfried (The abandonment).
Michelle Yeoh won Best Comedienne for All everywhere at the same time. His costar Ke Huy Quan received the Best Supporting Actor award.
The action-packed Indian blockbuster RRR, which became a huge word-of-mouth hit in Hollywood, gained momentum during awards season by winning Best Original Song. Already Pinocchioby Guillermo del Toro, won best animation, and Argentina, 1985as best foreign film.
In the TV category, The Dragon House won Best Drama Series and Abbott Elementaryfor Best Comedy Series.
