The HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) held the 2023 Golden Globes this Tuesday (10). The 80th edition was the first to be broadcast live in the United States in two years and sought to save lost racism and receive bribes from members.
With a presentation by comedian Jerrod Carmichael, the 2023 Golden Globes served as a warm-up for the year’s major awards. Among films, Inisherin’s Banshees (2022) received eight nominations, followed by the blockbuster All and Everywhere at the Same Time (2022), with six. At the end of the award ceremony, he won the feature film by Martin McDonagh, with three statuettes.
In the series category, phenomena such as Dahmer: An American Cannibal (2022) and Wandinha, which broke record after record for Netflix, were in contention with stiff competition from HBO Max, which was battling for the highlights stickers The White Lotus and House of the Dragon. The comedy about the rich in a hotel paradise took two statuettes, but Abbott Elementary was the big winner of the night, with three wins, including best series.
