The 4th LIRAa/LIA (Rapid Index Survey for the Aedes aegypti/ Sample Index Survey) of 2022, carried out between October and November and updated in December, identifies 218 cities at high risk of infestation of Aedes aegypti.
This means that, in these municipalities, for every 100 properties visited by health professionals, four or more contained mosquito larvae., transmitter of dengue, zika, chikungunya and yellow fever.
Of the 5,086 municipalities that carried out the survey, 3,130 (61.54%) obtained a IIP (Building Infestation Index) lower than 1, an index deemed satisfactory. Another 1,738 (34.17%) had the index between 1 and 3.9, indicating an alert situation.
