The cultural program on this Wednesday (25), the day Sao Paulo turns 469, is almost as long as the metropolis itself and offers good options for those on a budget.

Starting with the musical attractions prepared by the City of São Paulo, which include concerts by João Gomes, Belo, Almir Sater and Dona Onete with Gaby Amarantos in the Anhangabaú Valley — there are also shows in facilities such as the Centro Cultural São Paulo, with the presence by Nando Reis.

In addition to music, the selection with free programs also includes family activities, exhibitions, theater and even a guided tour to learn more about the history of the metropolis.

Nando Reis and Sebastiao Reis

The show traces the artist’s 40-year career with his son, Sebastião Reis. To the sound of two guitars, the musician sings hits such as “Os Cegos do Castelo”, “Por Onde Andei” and “O Segundo Sol”, among others. It takes place at 19:00.

Memories of independence

On the 25th, the Museu do Ipiranga inaugurates a temporary exhibition that discusses the prominence of the cry of Ipiranga as a milestone of Independence, recalling episodes that contributed to the break between Brazil and Portugal that took place in various parts of the country. “Memories of Independence” inaugurates a new room in the space dedicated to short-term exhibitions. Beyond the 11 o’clock train

The Immigration Museum organizes 25 free activities on this day, including a series of visits to spaces that reflect the immigration culture of nations such as Lebanon, Bolivia, Spain and Italy. The program also includes a guided tour of the city from the Ipiranga neighborhood and a visit to the Consolação Cemetery to observe Italian art seen in space. It takes place from 9:30.

Johnny Hooker

The Pernambuco singer presents a show with the repertoire of his new album, “Orgia”. In addition to the songs from the album, the presentation includes such hits as “Volta”, “Amor Marginal” and “Flutua”. It happens at 3pm.

Brenda Lee and the Princess Palace

Musical winner of the Bibi Ferreira award, “Brenda Lee” is on stage at CCSP and will perform an extra session on the occasion of the anniversary of São Paulo. The montage tells the story of the creation of the first support home for people living with HIV/AIDS in Brazil. The cast includes names like Verónica Valentino and Marina Mathey, among others. It happens at 20:00. Before that, at 17:00, an evening will take place in Praça das Bibliotecas with artists interpreting works by transgender creators.

The collective exhibition presents works that aim to open a dialogue between poetry and imagination, with new approaches to the representation of the universe that surrounds us. Author of some of Jovem Guarda’s greatest hits, such as “Eu Daria a Minha Vida” and “Eu te Amo Even Assim”, the singer Martinha joins the singer Ary Sanches to celebrate young Sunday afternoons with a show that recalls the first forty years of the homonymous program led by Roberto Carlos, Erasmo Carlos and Wanderléa.
